Owners Hold Media Relations Seminar for City and County Leaders

Eau Claire - Stokes+HERZOG owners Chris Herzog and Sarah Stokes recently helped city and county administrators from all over Wisconsin perfect their media relations strategies. “Sarah and I are always excited to present new ideas to city and county leaders who can put them into practice to tell great stories about their successes. And that’s what we were doing at the winter meeting for the Wisconsin City/County Management Association,” said co-owner Chris Herzog.

Stokes and Herzog presented ‘Managing Your Media Relationship’ to dozens of city and country administrators from all over the Badger state at the winter conference at the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire. The presentation helps participants understand how to manage their relationships with local media and how to better tell the stories of staff members’ accomplishments and overall successes that matter to their taxpayers, constituents and stakeholders.

As television news anchors and reporters, the two covered tens of thousands of stories focusing on city and county government throughout their careers all over the Midwest.

“Many of these organizations don’t have the financial resources to hire us full time as consultants. But if we can make time to help them through presentations and free advice at conferences like the winter WCMA, we believe that’s a win-win for everyone who attends,” co-owner Sarah Stokes said.

Stokes and her husband Chris Herzog, who are both former WEAU television news anchors, started Stokes+HERZOG, an advertising and public relations agency in 2014. The agency assists both local and global clients with all of their corporate business consulting, advertising, public relations, and marketing needs including video production, website management, graphic design, social media management and overall marketing and advertising strategy.
