As Seen on WQOW - Donation drive lets foster kids know "We Understand"

As seen on WQOW News 18: A unique, new clothing drive helps local foster kids with some of their basic needs that you may not have thought about.

Stokes+HERZOG organized the first "We Understand" donation drive to collect new underwear and bras for kids ages 10 and up who are in the foster care system.

Organizers told News 18, social workers report undergarments are an overlooked necessity for foster kids. They also said this drive can assure kids they're being taken care of, even if they're in unpredictable situations.

"This is one way we can all just chip in a little bit, take care of these kids in a small way and an important way," said Sarah Stokes, organizer of "We Understand". "The very foundation of their day is what they start to wear. So, we understand that we can do a little bit to help these kids feel normal again."

If you would like to help, you can drop off donations to the following locations:

Stokes+HERZOG office (415 E Clairemont Ave.) The Joyful Doc Clinic (1906 Brackett Ave.) That’s Adorable!, Kid’s Consignment Boutique (129 N Barstow St.)

Stokes also said if you are unable to donate new undergarments, you can make a monetary donation. The drive runs until June 15.
